Municipality Museum Jeddah

The Municipality Museum in Jeddah is one the most important and prominent museums in Jeddah. The British Legation during the First World War can be viewed only in the Municipality Museum. This traditional house was restored 200 years back. Red Sea coral was used to built the museum. The traditional interior design of the museum sets the perfect ambiance of a museum. The museum consists of rare photos exhibiting the development of Jeddah.

Souk Alawi Jeddah

The Souk Al-Alawi is Jeddah's biggest traditional market (souk) and livens up the serpentine alleys of the old town. It is ideal for a stroll to soak up the atmosphere of this ancient city and to hunt for souvenirs.  Old Jeddah Town

One of the best-kept secrets of Saudi Arabia lies entangled between a bustling port, a busy road system, modern shopping malls and a residential area: the Old Town of Jeddah. Most of the houses in Old Jeddah are 3- to 4-storey buildings, although some constructions tower up to seven stories high over the cobbled streets. Many of the tall and graceful buildings date back to the 19th century. Constructed of coral limestone and decorated with intricately beautiful wooden facades, they form the main attraction of the Old Town.

 Nassif House

Is the magnificent ancient mansion recently renovated considered as symbol of Jeddah’s rich past and now used as cultural center where you can attend special lectures by knowledgeable people. Interior of the houses is like in bygone days. Something interesting that they used trained camels to go up and down the five floors of the building carrying goods. It has 106 rooms and the art work some of the rooms contain is admirable. Besides works on wood, you can see others on tiles as well as Arabic calligraphy. The construction of Nassif House began in 1872 and it was finished by 1881 for Sheikh Omar Nassif. This house belonged to the Nassif family until 1975.

North Corniche Jeddah
